Over the summer, my family and I have been picking so so many blackberries. At stages, we simply had no idea what to do with them all! Seasonal eating is something that I’ve really been working on and learning about over these past few months. As one of our core values here at Rhythm & Green, I thought it would be great to find ways of using up these delicious blackberries whilst they’re fresh. After some experimenting in the kitchen, I came up with a few recipes – one of them being a super soft, and gently sweet, blackberry and banana cake!

This cake is extremely easy and quick to make and is made with the intention of being a slightly healthier sweet treat – the perfect breakfast for a chock-full day! This recipe contains no refined sugar and can very easily be made gluten free. One might say that it’s guilt free too! Making this cake yourself will be a lot better than buying it from the market or a cake shop – you never know how many ingredients they bake with! This beautiful blackberry banana cake contains only simple ingredients, for those of us who enjoy the simple things.
