blackberry syrup

Over the summer, we have been picking endless amounts of blackberries – so many, in fact, that we had no idea what to do with them all! Seasonal eating is something that I’ve really been investing in recently, and as one of our core values here at Rhythm & Green, I thought it would be a great idea to find ways of preserving our blackberries to enjoy over the winter. After some experimenting in the kitchen, I came up with a few different recipes – one of my favourites being a delicious blackberry syrup!

Blackberry syrup is extremely easy to make and it requires a minimal number of ingredients. Making it yourself is also a lot cheaper than buying it in the supermarket and you know that the fruit hasn’t been shipped from overseas or grown out of season (so many emissions!!!). We’ve been enjoying our batch of blackberry syrup on pancakes, porridge, and ice cream (as well as saving the majority of it for the colder months, of course) and we wanted to share our recipe with you!
